Welcome to ALL New Students
Please take a few minutes to become familiar with our program by clicking on this link to the Introductory Student Guide.
This program is based on traditions and core values that are the foundation of Martial Arts for thousands of years.
Your success in this program is based on how well you remember to do ALL the Basic Steps. And the ability to put All the Basic Steps together.
And only YOU have control of how well you do. That is what we mean when we tell you in class to Do Your Own Work.
The Introductory Student Guide introduces the new student to our program.
When the new student commits to their training by purchasing a uniform, they will receive a Complete White Belt Training Guide as part of the package.
Important Note #1 : Uniforms from other Martial Arts Schools are not permitted to be worn for Piscataway Martial Arts. Just as if you were joining a soccer club, or football team ... you would not be bringing your uniform from the former team, to wear on the new team. You would wear the new uniform, not the old one!
Important Note #2 : All new students start at White Belt Rank. If you have had previous training, your knowledge and experience will be obvious to all, especially the instructors. Yes, you will still need to become familiar with, and accomplished in the techniques and skill sets of the PMA program, but your previous experience should allow you to learn and adapt accordingly.
The Complete White Belt Training Guide includes technical requirements expected from the student, in order to promote to the next rank. These requirements are not shown in the Introductory Student Guide.
Promotion is NOT achieved by class attendance alone. It is reached by Improvement and Achievement as outlined at each level. And it starts with something as simple as Standing Still in Natural Stance.
Again, welcome to our program!
